Largest Dogs

We every one has seen dog. Many of us keep them as pets.Every year there are thousands of dogs born. Some are small, some are big and then there are those that are huge. In the past decade, there have been a couple dogs that have been labeled as the Worlds largest dogs. Which one is actually the world's largest dog depends on how you determine "biggest". Does it mean "tallest"? Does it mean "heaviest"? In the Guinness Book of World Records, they break it down into individual categories. For this purpose, it's up to the reader.
The World's largest living Dog is Hercules, an English Mastiff who weighs 282 pounds and has a 38-inch neck. J. Flynn of Peabody, Massachusetts owns Hercules. This one dog weighs more than his owner does, and the owner is no lightweight at 270 pounds. Hercules was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records in June, 2001 after a friend noticed a large Mastiff in the Guinness Book and thought it was Hercules. After calling the organization, Flynn discovered that the previous winner (a 296-pound mastiff) was deceased, making Hercules the new largest dog.
